Deerberg Systems GmbH will be presenting the latest addition to the Deerberg MPWMS ® (Multi Purpose Waste Management System) – PLASMA KING – plasma waste destruction technology.
In a joint venture with PyroGenesis from Canada, Deerberg is exclusively marketing this new technology in the shipping and shipbuilding industry. Compared to traditional incineration systems, plasma technology is about 50% smaller in size and 50% lower in weight while providing the same capacity and quality result.

Plasma technology is a consequent development of waste management technology and fulfils owners’ and yards’ requirements for more integrated systems that provide the customer with a more simple and efficient operation. Plasma builds more compact and lightweight systems, compared to traditional incineration systems, and improves onboard space utilization. Furthermore plasma technology offers the possibility to be connected to an energy recovery system using the processed waste as an energy source to return energy into the ships system. This underlines the Deerberg Complete Green Ship Philosophy.

Plasma technology is on the brink of replacing traditional incineration systems for the treatment of solid waste, food and wet waste, sludge oil and residuals from the liquid waste treatment system (advanced waste water treatment systems – AWT Systems) on board ships with a number of passengers. Currently Carnival Corporation is using this technology onboard one of their cruise ships and the US Navy operates a system in Deerburg’s workshop in Montreal under navy conditions.

Deerburg will be presenting their ‘Complete Green Ship Philosophy’ to handle all onboard waste streams (solid waste, food and wet waste, sludge oil and liquid waste) at the highest environmental standard.
